PC (14-11, 6-7) rolled over #21 Notre Dame (20-6, 8-5) at the Dunk on Saturday afternoon by a comfortable margin of 71-54. The Friars were led by Kadeem Batts, who scored a game-high 20 points, and Vincent Council, who scored seven points, while dishing out 11 assists and pulling down 11 rebounds. With Council’s 11 assists, he passed former Friar great Ernie D’Gregorio’s PC all-time assist record of 662. Council now has 671 career assists, and is just three short of the Big East all-time mark as well. Bryce Cotton also added 19 points in the win for the Friars. Jack Cooley paced the scoring attack for Notre Dame, netting 12 points and collecting 10 rebounds. PC’s Lee Goldsbrough hit a three at the end of the first half to put the Friars up eight, before widening their lead in the second half. The Friars have not won four straight Big East games since the 2003-04 season. They will look to capture five straight, when they travel to #6 Syracuse (20-4, 8-3) to take on Jim Boeheim’s Orange on Wednesday at 7pm on ESPN2.
