From here on out, every game for the Friars (15-12, 7-8) is the biggest game of the season. So it’s no surprise that last night’s game at Rutgers (13-13, 4-11) was a huge game for the Friars, particularly because of the demoralizing loss at Syracuse the game before. After trailing 33-23 in the first half, PC rattled off a 19-0 run to end the half, taking a 42-33 lead into halftime. Bryce “ice” Cotton led the way with a game-high 22 points for the Friars. LaDontae Henton recorded PC’s lone double-double with 18 points and 10 boards. Kadeem Batts also chipped in with 14 points, while Vincent Council added 12 points and six assists. Dane Miller led the way for the Scarlet Knights, netting 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting. The Friars remaining schedule includes: vs. St. John’s (3/2), vs. Seton Hall (3/5), and at Connecticut (3/9). All three games are winnable games for the Friars, especially the two home games. The Friars will look to keep up their solid play for these final games, with the hopes of making some noise in the Big East tournament.
