After a slow offensive start in the first half and taking a one point deficit into halftime, PC (16-12, 8-8) defeated St. John’s (16-12, 8-8) by a score of 62-59 on Saturday night at the Dunk. With every game playing a huge role in PC’s postseason destiny, this was yet another huge win down the stretch for the Friars. PC was led by Ice Cotton, who scored a game-high 24 points, including 19 in the second half to mount a Friar comeback. Kadeem Batts also chipped in with 15 points and nine rebounds, while Kris Dunn recorded a career high 12 rebounds. The Red Storm were led by JaKarr Sampson, who deposited 22 points, while Sir’Dominic Pointer finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Friars will now host Seton Hall at 9pm Tuesday, before heading to UConn next Saturday to conclude their season.
