Council Makes NBA Summer League Debut

Former Friar standout point guard Vincent Council made his NBA Summer League debut with the Miami Heat Sunday afternoon.

In a 69-59 loss to the Utah Jazz, Council logged 15 minutes off the bench, contributing with four points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Council is coming off of an outstanding four year career with the Friars, becoming the Big East’s all-time assist leader in his senior season, while leading his team to the quarterfinals of the NIT.

Council and Miami will be back in action against the Brooklyn Nets at 5pm tomorrow in day two of the NBA Summer League.

Michael Carter-Williams, formerly of Syracuse, filled the stat sheet on Sunday playing in his first NBA Summer League game with the 76ers, scoring a game-high 26 points, while pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out eight assists.

Former UConn project Andre Drummond, who is gearing up for his second season in the NBA, also turned heads in his first 2013 Summer League game on Sunday. The Center scored 12 points, while collecting 16 rebounds, blocking six shots, and recording five steals.
